BeUniq / PolishPilot

Effective date: July 9, 2026

BeUniq / PolishPilot is a Chrome extension that helps users analyze selected UI areas on webpages.

Data We Collect

When you use the extension, we may process:

  • Selected screenshot area: only the area you choose to capture.
  • Page structure and styling data: DOM, text snippets, CSS, layout, and computed style information from the selected area.
  • Page metadata: page URL and title for context.
  • Account data: email address, sign-in code, and authentication token when you connect your account.
  • Usage data: screenshot credit usage and basic request status.

The extension does not collect passwords, payment card numbers, health data, precise location, or full browsing history.

How We Use Data

We use this data to:

  • Analyze the selected UI area.
  • Generate design feedback and previews.
  • Authenticate your account.
  • Track screenshot usage limits.
  • Improve reliability and debug errors.

When Data Is Collected

Screenshots and page content are collected only when you actively start a capture, for example by clicking “Analyze this screen” or using the keyboard shortcut.

Data Sharing

Captured screenshot and selected page context may be sent securely to our backend at https://polish-pilot.vercel.app.

Our backend may use AI service providers, including Google Gemini, to analyze the selected UI and generate feedback.

We do not sell user data.

Storage

The extension stores the latest capture and analysis result in chrome.storage.session. This is temporary browser session storage.

Account profile data and authentication tokens may be stored in chrome.storage.local until token expiry or sign-out.

Authentication

The extension uses a website-based sign-in code flow. The extension does not see your Google password. You can sign out in the extension, which clears locally stored account data and tokens.

Security

Data is transmitted over HTTPS. Authentication tokens are used only to authorize requests to our backend.

Limited Use Disclosure

Our use of information received from Chrome APIs complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Chrome API data only to provide and improve the extension’s visible user-facing features. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising, or transfer it for unrelated purposes.
